The tyre cover is constructed with an outer portion 2 of rubber and an inner portion 3 of fabric in spiral layers, between which on the tread portion are located a series of thin annular strips 12 of hard rubber. On either side of the inwardly-arched air tube are protective air chambers 5 filled with sponge rubber.
