Tyres, pneumatic. - The tyre is attached to the rim by securing within each edge C of the outer cover E a channel B formed in segments from abutting strips of metal, whalebone, celluloid, or the like. Inflation of the inner air tube presses one channel into the other, and so attaches the tyre to the rim, which may be correspondingly shaped. The corners of channels may be rounded, and, if no inner tube is employed, the adjacent faces of the channels may be coated with rubber.
