694,294. Pneumatic tyres. GOODRICH CO., B.F. April 22, 1952, No. 10083/52. Class 144 (ii). A tubeless pneumatic tyre consists of a conventional outer cover 10 formed of reinforced rubber with an inner lining 19 of butyl or like rubber more impervious to air than the outer facing 20 of ordinary wear-resisting rubber, the parts 19, 20 being splice-jointed at 21 in the region of the toes 16 of the tyre-beads. To increase the sealing effect, the outer faces of the beads may be moulded with circumferential ribs 26, or coated with adhesive or soft sealing compounds.
