Lithographic and like printing; feeding sheets.-The impression or blanket cylinder of a rotary lithographic machine is caused to make two revolutions for each impression, and to deliver the sheet to delivery tapes in such a manner that all smearing or contact of the printed matter with the tapes &c. is avoided. The printing- cylinder C, Fig. 1, may also make two revolutions for every impression, in which case, as it is doubly inked, half the usual number of inking-rollers D and damping-rollers F only need be used. The former are preferably mounted on a swinging frame E. A sheet, fed from a pile table G, gradually raised by a suitablydriven screw H, is taken by the grippers P, and, when the front end is opposite the cylinder C, the tripping-devices J move the impression cylinder B against the cylinder C, and printing commences. The sheet is passed by delivery tapes R<1> to a table S, printed side uppermost, and, when the whole sheet has been printed, the cylinder B is tripped for one revolution until the next sheet comes into printing-position.
