[Cognate Application, 20,875/12.] Rotary offset machines. - In a rotary lithographic offset printing-machine, for printing in one or more colours on one or both sides of the sheet or web of paper, fabric, metal, &c., the diameter of the impression cylinder c is a multiple of t h e diameter of the printing-cylinders a', a<2>, &c., or the transfer cylinders b<1>, b<2>, &c., or of both. In one form, Fig. 2, the sheets are taken from the feed - board e by grippers f operated by stationary pins k, j. After the sheet is printed by transfer cylinders b<1>, b<2>, b<4>, it passes to the delivery devices d, s, A greater or lesser number of printing and transfer sets may be used, and one or more of the offset cylinders may print on one or more of the impression surfaces f so that as the sheet passes between the transfer and impression cylinders it may be perfected. In some cases, the sheet is delivered to a delivery at r. The direction of rotation of the cylinder c may be reversed, and sheets or a web may be fed in to the machine from below the delivery devices s, the web being cut into sheets after printing or perfecting, if desired.
