Abstract

Dust distributors.-A dust distributor for use in coal mines comprises a wheeled carriage carrying a hopper having a discharge opening controlled by a shutter and communicating with a discharge passage into which air is forced by a double-acting bellows which is actuated by means of a hand-lever or an eccentric on one of the wheel axles. The shutter g controlling the outlet from the hopper c to the horizontal or inclined discharge chamber f is moved by means of a hand-lever h and link rod j. The chamber f has a fan-shaped discharge opening and is connected to the bellows n by a pipe k. The central leaf p of the bellows is linked to a crank r on a transverse shaft s adapted to be oscillated either by a hand-lever t or an eccentric u on the axle v, the eccentric being adjustably and detachably connected to an extension of the lever t by a rod w.
