[Class 60] [See also Group V] Apparatus for sand-blasting bricks to give them a ''rustic" " surface, or for cleaning castings &c. comprises a vessel a holding sand, which is delivered through valves c to diffusers d, each comprising a conical hopper fitted with an inverted cone e. From the hoppers pipes f lead to branches g<1> of sand blasting-tools g, each of which is supplied with air, or other medium, through a pipe i, and has therein a nozzle h and a replaceable outlet liner j. The nozzles are moved about pivots on brackets k, m, carried by a casing l, by means of a crank o and links o<1>, o<2>, the bricks to be treated being carried past the nozzles by an endless conveyer n ; sand not adhering to the bricks falls into a hopper l<1>. The sand and air may be dried by steam coils fitted to the vessel a and/or the diffusers.
