Abstract

303,995. Johnson, A. F. Dec. 13, 1927. Surface treatment with liquid materials.- Relates to vehicular apparatus for distributing tar on roads, of the kind described in Specification 14755/08 in which tar from a tank a carried by a trailer vehicle is fed through a pipe b to a spray pipe c feeding a rotary distributor d driven off the road wheel axle through a clutch by sprocket gear e, f, g, h. According to the present invention, an additional sprocket gear k, m drives a Pickering governor n which through a lever p and links r, s controls the flow of tar through a valve u to suit the speed of the vehicle. A sliding connection v between the lever p and link r enables the quantity of tar distributed per square yard to be adjusted.
