Abstract

198,175. Hankin, M. H. April 18, 1922. Rotary apparatus; spraying-machines.-Water carts, manure distributors, &c. are provided with spraying plates J which are rotated by means of a flexible shaft from a friction roller F driven from one of the wheels. Attached to a back leg A is a plate B having a link C pivoted to it, on the upper end of which is a bearing for a spindle D carrying the roller F. The spreader J is carried on bearings on a bracket K clamped to the, spout L of the vehicle. A spring M between the link C and leg A keeps the roller normally in contact with the wheel rim or side but it may be held out of engagement by means of a pin inserted in the lug C<1> entering a hole A' in the leg A. A scraper N may be provided to remove mud &c. from the wheel rim. The spout may be provided with a hood to ensure that all liquid therefrom descends on to the rotary spreader.
