The bearing - surfaces of the washers and clips and of the clips and plates may be corrugated. The bolts are held by one abutment I or by separate abutments below the sleeper. The clips on opposite sides of the rail are staggered, and may be formed to bear against the web of the rail and over its foot. With this arrangement, vertical and horizontal adjustments can be made.
