Abstract

10,544. Page, S. E., [Weber Railway Joint Manufacturing Co.]. May 8. Rails, securing to sleepers.-The rail A, preferably, rests on a plate H and is secured by clips D, bearing on the rail flanges and fastened by bolts E, to enable the rail to be adjusted both vertically and horizontally. The clips are staggered and the bolt heads F bear upon a plate G. The plate H is corrugated or recessed and provided with spikes for fixing it to the sleeper. The clips D have elongated holes to enable the rail to be adjusted, and they bear on the plate H only at their outer ends so as to secure a firm hold on the rail base. They may each be formed in one piece, as shown in Fig. 2, or in two pieces with inclined meeting faces, as shown in Figs. 4 and 5, in which case the clips are forced towards each other when the bolts are screwed up.
