Abstract

190,210. Walker, G. W. June 8, 1922. Cap-stoppers, screw; screw mechanism above closure; stoppers with valves; screw stoppers formed to aid withdrawal; materials, special, for packing-discs.-An internally-screwed cap for closing petrol &c. containers comprises projections m, Figs. 1 and 2, which permit the cap to be screwed down by hand but not by ordinary tools or the bottom edge of another container, and a central screw e, attached to or acting upon a hard metal disc g to press a soft metal disc i beneath it into contact with the vessel mouth, holes f, n being provided in the screw e and the projections m to receive a sealing wire. As shown, a paper or like disc h is interposed between the discs g and i, and the projections m have sloping sides m* which prevent a spanner or ordinary tool from gripping them. In a modification, the sides of the cap are formed with outlet and venting holes j, k, Fig. 9, which render complete removal of the cap unnecessary.
