Ironing-machines.-The fabric 31 passes on rolls 23, 32 above an ironing-table 2 and beneath a damping-band 20, which runs over pulleys 21, 27, 25, &c. through a water tank 19. The ironing- table 2 is of triangular section, and is mounted on a shaft 3 carrying a toothed wheel 5, which is rotated at intervals by a toothed segment 7, to bring a fresh surface of the table into the horizontal position and feed on the portion of the fabric which has been ironed. A reciprocating iron 10 slides between guides 8, 9, and is operated by a pitman 15. The pulley 27 is supported on a spring-held arm 29, so that the band 20 can give sufficiently on the rising of an edge of the ironing- table 2.
