Abstract
24,621. Soc. Italiana di Elettricita gla Cruto. Sept. 13, [date applied for under Sec.103 of Patents &c. Act, A.D. 1883]. Incandescent lamps are mounted detachably and rotatably in caps or holders. The lamp bulb, Fig. 1, is made with a circular contraction 1 in the neck, and with a glass stem 3, through which one leading-in wire extends to a central contact bead 4, the other passing out laterally to a coiled wire 5. A cap 11, Fig. 5, is made with tongues 2 to grip the contracted part of the neck of the bulb ; the bead 4 and the coil 5 are thus held upon two plates 6, 7 connected by springs to a central contact 10 and the cap itself, in the screw cap shown, or to the contact-plates of a bayonet or other cap. The cap 11 may be dispensed with, the springs and plates 6, 7 being placed in a holder to receive the uncapped lamp directly.
