Candles, imitation; holders; caps; bulbs.-A bulb of the kind having a tubular extension b, screw cap e, and split contact-pin d, is provided with a holder consisting of a threaded sleeve f integral with a number of inwardlydirected spring-fingers g. The holder and candle tube are supported by a conical tube k, which may be separate and insulated from it, as in Fig. 1, or integral with it, Fig. 4. The fingers g and pin d are adapted to engage respectively with a ring s which may be grooved and tube r, Fig. 2, forming the terminals of a conical or other block n of vulcanite or other insulating material, provided with binding- posts p, q for the supply wires. The block n may be screwed by its nipple u into the bottom of a sconce, or into a disk threaded into the mouth of a sconce; or it may be fitted with an expanding rubber plug 3. The tube k, Fig. 4, may be provided with a rubbing contact 4, the supply wire connected to the fingers g being omitted, when a concentric system of lighting is used. The candle tube may be of opal or other glass, ivory, ivoride, bone, or composition. In a modification, the tube k may be replaced by a number of struts or stays. According to the Provisional Specification, the bulb may be of ordinary form and springs may be provided to fix the lamp in a sconce.
