Candles, imitation; holders. -An imitation candle contains an abutment 10 forming an integral part of the lamp or connector tube 1, and carries a sliding flange 4, which supports the opal tube and is pressed down upon the ordinary holder, to secure the lamp in position, by a spring 9 arranged between the abutment and the flange. In the construction shown, the connector tube 1 is provided at its upper end with a holder for the lamp 2; the spring 9 presses downwards a pin 8 which passes through slots and is connected to a sleeve 5 upon the flange 4. Pins 6 on the tube engage with bayonet-slots in the holder, which may be of ordinary construction, but in the form shown in Fig. 3 the connector tube carries terminals 3 to receive the supply wires. In a modification, the lamp extends right through the opal tube, the spring 9 being arranged between the flange and an external shoulder on the lamp cap. According to the Provisional Specification, the lower end of the connector may screw into a socket, a rubber cushion may replace the spring, and the resilient securing-device may be mounted upon the bayonet or screw socket instead of upon the connector.
