Reflectors a for elec tric incandescent lamps, placed centrally and surrounded by the filaments b, may be cylindrical, as shown, spherical, conical, or conoidal, and may be supported by thin glass stems from either end of the bulbs of the lamps. Or the lamp bulb may be of annular form, as indicated by the dotted line d, enclosing the filament, and having an open recess to receive the reflector. The reflector may be of opal or silvered glass, and may be ribbed or otherwise serrated.
