Abstract

Reflectors; globe, shade, and reflector holders.- Reflectors, and glass, china, or metal globes or bowls, for electric or acetylene or other gas lamps, are supported by means shown in one form as applied to an electric incandescent lamp. The reflectors e may be of silvered glass, either solid or hollow as shown ; for lighting large areas, they mav have the form of horizontal discs with convex under surfaces. The holder shown consists of a threaded socket a for a small lamp, an outer cap b to fit an ordinary screw lamp-holder, and an intermediate piece c for connecting the parts a, b together after the reflector e has been placed between flanges on them. Solder is applied through holes in the cap b to secure the parts, when these have been screwed together. When a full-sized lamp is to be used, the socket a is formed to screw directly into the cap b, without an intermediate piece c ; or the socket and cap may be in one piece, on which a ring is screwed, to hold the reflector upon the flange of the socket.
