Abstract

Reflectors within bulbs.-In a lamp having a concentrated filament in inert gas, a spherical reflector a is mounted within the bulb, and may be arranged with its axis at right-angles to that of the bulb, as shown, or may face the cap. It may be attached to the bulb or to the filament support by glass or metal pieces, held by fusion or mechanically. Suitable materials for the reflector are aluminium and silvered earthenware; if of refractory metal, the reflector may be placed very near the filament. Water-cooling may be employed as in the anti-cathodes of X-ray tubes. The invention is applicable to projectors. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sent. 91 (3) (a) the reflector may also be convex or flat, and may be discontinuous or annular. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
