Holders; caps; bulbs; filaments.-In a projector or head-light for motor-cars and other vehicles, an acetylene burner can be replaced by an electric lamp, by screwing the electriclamp holder into the gas inlet. One half of the electric-lamp bulb 3 may be silvered outside, and the filament is arranged so that one end C of the filament is in the centre of the bulb while the other end F is in the focus of a hyperbolic or parabolic reflector 2, this arrangement being described in Specification 10,146/12. In order to bring the end F of the filament into the axis of the gas inlet chamber 5, the lamp is connected to the chamber by an elbowjoint 4<f> screwed to the lamp cap and to the chamber 5, and secured to the chamber 5 by a lock-nut 4<c>. In a modification, the coils of the filament extend on each side of the centre of the bulb, and the reflecting-surface of the bulb produces an image of the filament, which image is located between the coils of the filament, thereby constituting with the filament a homogeneous luminous source.
