Vehicular lanterns; electric-lamp lanterns; convertible electric and gas or oil lamps.-Relates to motor-vehicle head-lights having two sources of light, namely a powerful source for use on country roads and a weak one for towns. The light from one source shines directly from the lamp, while that from the other falls first upon a reflector. In the form shown, a low-power electric bulb d<0> and a high-power bulb d are arranged in the axis of the main reflector a. Auxiliary reflectors c<0>, c<2> are provided, and are such that the source d<0> gives a divergent beam, and the source d a parallel beam. The reflector c<0> may be fitted with a glass b<0>, which may be coloured. The bulbs and auxiliary reflectors are carried by a cylinder c and a stem c<1>, which may be held by a resilient extension C in an oblique part A, to allow removal of the support c, c<1>. Instead of either or both of the electric lamps, acetylene or liquid-fuel burners may be employed.
