Abstract
10,931. Campbell, D. F. May 10. Incandescent lamps.-A bulb consists of a lower part 3 having the form of a shallow spherical segment and an upper part 2 which projects within it and is either similarly shaped or conical. A circular filament 4 surrounds the upper part, which, being exposed to the air, may be silvered. The bulb is attached to a cap 7 by glass stems 8, which contain the leading-in wires. These may be connected at diametrically opposite points of the filament, or at two points near together ; in the latter case a support for the filament is provided at an opposite point. The bulb may be corrugated or fluted.
