8112. R a n o e, J. P., and Templer & Ranoe. April 19. Blow-off apparatus; clack boxes and the like.-Relates to a combined blow-off valve and non-return or isolation valve for steam boilers. The blow-off valve f is a sliding valve operated by a rack and pinion as shown, or otherwise, and pressed to its seat by springs acting on studs k<1>. The non - return valve is a hinged valve d, or a ball valve as shown at e, Fig. 2, in dotted lines. The casing is provided with a removable cover h between the two seatings. To prevent the wheel or handle for turning the pinion l from being removed when the valve d is open, it may be formed with a lug p, Fig. 5, to engage a bayonet-joint groove in the framework. The spindle k may be packed by soft material compressed by a radial plug o, Fig. 4.
