Abstract

Casings; cleaning valves and cocks.-In order to facilitate cleaning, a tap or cock is constructed of two or more longitudinal sections, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, secured together by means of bands, springs, clasps, rings, or by screws e, as shown, or by any other device. The sections may be hinged together or not. The meeting faces of the sections are grooved at f to receive a rubber or other packing. The tap is opened out for cleaning.
