Abstract
189,887. Constantinesco, G. Sept. 12, 1921. Spray carburettors. - The fuel needle valve is actuated bv a solenoid connected with the low tension coil of the magneto so that the fuel orifice is opened when the starting switch is in the running position and closed when the ignition is cut out. The. float chamber a is cast with the induction pipe b and is in communication therewith through a passage q and orifice p, an adjustable air vent being provided by an aperture rand screwed plug s. The nozzle c; in the lower part of the float chamber, is controlled by a steel needle valve g actuated by a solenoid f of high reactance, and connected in parallel with the circuit of the magneto v. Fuel enters at k and is controlled by a valve l actuated by an arm m of a stamping n to which a cork float o is secured. The carburettor may be primed at starting by lifting the needle mechanically or by passing a current from a battery through the solenoid. In a modification, the solenoid is of low reactance and is connected in series with the magneto circuit. With the ignition cut out, air only may be admitted with throttle fully open.
