Abstract
660,820. Spray carburetters. JENKIN, A. Oct. 11, 1949, No. 31217/48. Class 7(iii) A device for cutting off the slow-running fuel supply at overrunning comprises a valve 7, opened by an electromagnet 11, when the throttle valve 2 is closed and the engine speed above idling, to admit sufficient air to the slow-running passage 5 to put the slow-running jet 4.out of action. The valve 7 is carried by a spring arm 9 which also carries the electromagnet armature 12, a stop 13 limiting the open position of the valve. The electromagnet circuit contains a switch 16 closed by a wiper 18 on the accelerator pedal 3 when the throttle valve is closed, the wiper 18 contacting a terminal 20 to maintain the dynamo 15 connected to the battery charging cut-out 19 when the throttle valve is opened. The valve 7 may be arranged to shut off the fuel supply to the slow-running jet 4.
