Abstract

778,606. Carburetters. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. March 5, 1956 [March 3, 1955], No. 6874/56. Class 7 (3). A cam or lever 16 on the spindle of the starting carburetter throttle cooperates with an arm 14 carried by a lever 12 on the spindle 13 of the main throttle valve 11 so that the main throttle valve is opened at least slightly when the auxiliary carburetter is being switched out of use. As shown by Fig. 4 the main throttle valve is opened when the cam 16 is in an intermediate position. The main throttle may be in idling position if the starting carburetter is switched in or off. It can be arranged that if the starting carburetter is fully switched in the main throttle valve 11 is fully closed whereas with the starting carburetter switched off the main throttle valve is brought into a certain predetermined open position. Preferably the main throttle valve is adapted to be closed when the auxiliary carburetter is in use and at least slightly opened when out of use.
