Centrifugal-action lubricators.-A centrifugally operated lubricator for loose pulleys comprises a cylinder a, secured to the hub h by a screwed nipple g, and a piston d, with a rod f protruding through the cylinder cover e. A lever m, pivoted at k to a support j secured to the cylinder-cover e, has a weight p at one end. When the pulley rotates, the centrifugal force acting on the weight p is transmitted by the lever m to the piston-rod and tends to force the piston d into the cylinder a so that lubricant passes into the bearing. The position of the lever m indicates the amount of lubricant in the cylinder. The edge r of the lever m is curved so that the pressure applied to the top of the piston-rod is always axial. The lubricator is also suitable for hollow shafts &c.
