Abstract

184,975. Cheatham, R. L. July 16, 1921. Brushes, hand-supported, driving by power; self-feeding brushes. - A brush, especially adapted for cleaning automobiles or other vehicles, comprises a circular casing 1 of aluminium or other material having its lower end open and serving as a holder for a rotary waterwheel 6 provided with bristles 7, the wheel being rotated by water projected against blades 15 from a nozzle 18 carried by the handle to the casing. The nozzle is provided with arcuate slots through which pass members 19 fastening it to the handle whereby the water may be directed either toward or away from the blades 15. The end of the nozzle is screw-threaded to receive a coupling-member 17<1> connected to a hose 17. A cleaning-element having bristles 4 is secured to the side of the casing 1 and prevents water from being distributed over too large an area. The casing may be protected by a rubber cover 20.
