Abstract

200,154. Foster, A. R. J. March 25, 1922. Brush sheaths; rotary brushes; hand-supported hand or power driven brushes. - A rotary toothbrush comprises a stem B carrying bristles A and detachably secured to one end of a tube E, which is rotatably mounted in a sleeve C and is provided with an operating handle F. A guard D is detachably secured to the sleeve by means of two projections thereon, which are bent round the reduced portion G of the sleeve. The brush, as shown, is rotated by hand, but the construction may be modified to allow of the brush being driven by means such as a rack and pinion, electric motor or other source of power. The brush may be disc-shaped, cylindrical or spiral and of serrated form. Reference has been 'directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 9852/87, 18162/90, 9068/93, 1206/03, 27088/09, 5374/11, 18102/12, and 190,787.
