Abstract
629,087. Toothbrush. OOSTENS, F. March 5 1945, No. 5397. [Class 131] [Also in Group XXIII] A rotary toothbrush attachment is adapted to fit on to a mechanical dry razor of the kind having a rotary cutter blade or drive, and comprises a housing adapted to be secured directly or indirectly to the body of the razor, a brush carried by a spindle rotatably mounted therein, and coupling means for driving the brush spindle from a rotating part of the razor. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the housing 12 is screwed on to an extension 2, mounted on the motor shaft, after removal of the original housing with its rotary cutter blade, and the brush spindle 8 is coupled to the axle 5 of the razor motor. The housing is located axially by means of a cup 13 and is provided with a cap 15. In a modification, the brush spindle is formed integrally with a helicoidal nut. In other modifications, the housing is secured directly or indirectly to a bayonet fitting on the razor body. In a further modification, Fig. 6, the housing is in two parts 12, 27, the part 27 being adapted to fit over the rotary cutter 26, and the brush spindle is driven frictionally by means of a roller 28 which contacts with the cutter.
