Abstract

184,810. Pehrson, A. H. Aug. 20, 1921, [Convention date]. Rotary furnaces.-Air or other aeroform fluid is introduced into the charge for metallurgical chemical and thermal purposes, through tuveres 12 at such a distance from the centre that they are covered in turn by the charge, and when so covered are put in connection with the air or like supply. In the construction described, the tuyeres 12 are connected through pipes 14, externally arranged on the discharge part 3 of the furnace, to a ring of inlets adapted to make joint with a fixed valve plate 18, having in its lower portion an arcuate slot communicating with a blast box 20. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification in which automatically regulated cocks are used instead of the valve ring arrangement. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
