Abstract

Cutting slices in succession. - In meat - slicing machines of the kind wherein the meat is herd on a table and reciprocated and fed by hand in relation to a circular knife, the fence plate is made adjustable relatively to the knife for the purpose of varying the thickness of slice to be cut. An opening 10 in the fence plate 1 is engaged by a reduced part 9 of a coarse-pitched screw 4, which works in a bearing 6 on the underside of the table 3, and has a helical groove 5 engaged by a nose 7 on the end of a fixed screw 8. The screw 4 is rotated by a handle 11, carrying a pointer 12 which traverses a scale 13 and allows the plate 1 to be adjusted to give the desired thickness of slice. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 16425/12.
