Abstract
182,186. Cooper, T. March 24, 1921. Securing pulleys on shafts. - In means for securing on shafts rope and other pulleys and wheels which are diametrically split, one or more of the securing- bolts 6 passing through the split boss 1, 2 are provided with a lug 10 having a straight or cam-shaped and smooth or serrated face adapted to engage a flat on, or recess in, the shaft 4<a>; or, for light drives, a serrated lug may engage the surface of the shaft. In assembling, the nut 8, drawing the lug into engagement, is first tightened. If, as shown, a bush 11 is used to adapt the pulley &c. to a small shaft, this bush is pierced to give passage to the lug 10.
