Abstract

Coils and conductors ; cores.-In order to minimize losses due to eddy current in the conductors of dynamoelectric machines, one or more of the conductors in each slot are wholly or partly surrounded by magnetic shields F embedded in the insulation C. When the conductor is only partly surrounded by the shield, additional transverse shields may be provided, located outside the insulation but insulated from the slot walls. Slits E in the direction of the length of the conductor are formed in the shields F. The slits mav be in the form of cuts or of successions of perforations. The shields may be made of wire or sheets of magnetizable material, or they may be formed of agglomerated or precipitated ferric powders. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the following subject-matter. Oblique slits R, Fig. 1 (Cancelled) and transverse slits H may be formed in the teeth separating the slots. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
