Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the conductor space factor and reduce the iron loss by arranging a coil having a large line diameter at the upper part having a large slot width of an eggplant shaped semiclosed slot and arranging a coil having a small line diameter at the lower part having a small slot diameter. CONSTITUTION:An armature coil 7a having a small line diameter is arranged at the lower part of an eggplant shaped semiclosed slot 6a in which the slot width at the lower part is narrower than the slot width at the upper part, and an armature coil 7b having a large line width is arranged at the upper part of the slot. Armature coils 7a and 7b are insulated from armature cores by means of an insulating paper 10, and a wedge 11 is inserted in the opening of the slot 6a. By these procedures, the conductor space factor within the slot 6a can be improved, the sectional area of each of teeth 9 can be enlarged and the iron loss can be decreased. Further, since the armature coil 7a having a small line diameter can be inserted in the lower part of a slit 5 formed in a commutator riser 4, the riser 4 and the commutator can be miniaturized.
