Clutches and speed-varying mechanism.-In variable-speed hydraulic transmission devices comprising a pump A and motor B, the position of the stroke-controlling member B<1> of the motor is controlled by a piston E<1> subject to the action of the pressure in the system and of a spring e<1>, the arrangement being such that as the pressure decreases, the stroke of the motor pistons decreases, and the speed of the motor therefore increases. Fixed and adjustable stops b, b<1> are provided, and the cylinder E is connected to the circuit through a cylinder e<2> having a throwover valve e<3> and through pipes e<4>, e<5>.
