Liquid - pressure engmes; hydraulic transmission of power.-In a hydraulic motor particularly applicable to hydraulic transmission apparatus, the strokecontrolling member such as B, is automatically moved into the neutral position by a light spring D when the pressure acting on a ram D' falls to a predetermined low value. A changeover valve E is provided so that the ram cylinder is connected to the appropriate conduit C<1>, C<2>, and a valve arrangement is provided for relieving undue pressure in the suction conduit. The latter arrangement comprises a change-over valve F operated simultaneously with the valve E, non-return valves F<4x>, F<5x>, and conduits as shown. In a hydraulic transmission apparatus, the pump may be as described in Specification 302,431 [Class 102 (i), Pumps &c.]. Specification 181,565 also is referred to.
