Filters having sheet filtering-materials.-A fil ter for boiler feed-water &c. comprises a casing with a compartment C containing a series of per forated discs, covered with a filtering-medium and arranged to form a corrugated column D having a central passage-way from which the filtered liquid is discharged through a pipe I to the lowe part of a receiving compartment E, the bottom of which is at a lower level than the bottom o the compartment C. The filter may be held in position by a screw H working through a stay G A weir J may separate a settling-compartment to which the liquid to be filtered is supplied, from the filter compartment.
