Shearing; shear blades.-The moving blade of a wire-rope shearing - machine consists of a circular disc 9 cut awav at 10 and mounted eccentrically to its pivot 6. The fixed blade forms the lower side of a notch 7, and its edge is substantially concentric with the pivot 6. The device is operated by a toothed sector and hand-operated pawl as shown.
