(Class 83 (iv)] In a hand-operated shearing machine with fixed and pivoted blades 2, 4, an operating lever 12 is adjustably secured in a wedge-shaped pocketed member 7 geared by teeth 8, 9 to the carrier 10 of the blade 4. The lever is secured, by a captive pin 13, in the full line position for heavy cuts and in the dotted position for light cuts.
