[Class 81 (ii)] A dental tool for slitting cap-crowns comprises a jaw a provided with small gripping teeth and a cutting jaw b terminating in a sharp point and somewhat shorter than the jaw a. In a modification, Fig. 4, a blade d' mounted on the limb d coacts with a toothed plate c<1> and the proportions of the tool are such that the distance x from the end of the blade d<1> to the pivot p is about equal to the width across the jaw so that the tool may pass between upper and lower molars or pre-molars n, n<1> to operate on the molar m.
