Abstract

476,306. Hedge - cutting appliances; lawn - trimmers. ROBERTSON, J. W. June 3, 1936, No. 15533. [Class 6 (ii)] The device described in Specification 435,427 is modified by replacing the roller by an electric motor for operating the shears thus rendering the device suitable for trimming hedges &c. The shears 10 are mounted on a base. plate and are driven from the electric motor 22 by aworm 21 engaging the crank disc 19. Reducing gearing may be provided between the motor and the disc 19. A cover-plate, which may be hinged to the base-plate, is provided foi protecting the operating mechanism and a carrying handle and switch may also be provided. When used for trimming lawn edges, the device may be supported on a trolley.
