Abstract

Overlap joints with slotted or divided socket or sleeve.-An exhaust silencer is connected to the exhaust pipe by a bushing screwed on the exhaust pipe, a clamp forcing the split ends of the silencer on to the bushing; slits may be made in the bushing along its length from opposite edges. In a modification, the bush is formed by two rings n cut radially in different planes and screwed on the exhaust pipe.
