Couplings, non-automatic.-In a non-automatic coupling comprising two links pivoted together and to the draw-hook of the vehicle, the operation of coupling or uncoupling is carried out solely by the manipulation of the appropriate lever. The links g, h are pivoted together at r and to the draw-hook c at s. A coupling lever a on a transverse shaft b is connected through an arm d and link e to a pivot p beyond the pivot r of the links g, h, and an uncoupling-lever n on a transverse shaft m is connected through an arm o and link l to a pivot q on an extension of the link g. In the uncoupled' position, the outer extremity of the link g rests in the hook c. When two vehicles are to be coupled, the coupling lever a is moved in a clockwise direction, the link g being raised clear of the hook c and carried forward over the hook c' of the opposing vehicle. When the uncoupling-lever n is turned anticlockwise the link g is raised clear of the hook c<1> and brought back to rest in the hook c.
