Abstract

173,163. Vaughan, C. F. Dec. 18, 1920. Right to Patent relinquished. Lanterns, glazing. -A split ring E, preferably of V-shaped or channel - shaped cross - section, embraces the peripheries of the front glass and reflector of a vehicular or other lamp and is compressed against the inclined sides of an aperture in the lamp body by the inward movement of the reflector by means of a screwthreaded or other connection between the back of the reflector and the lamp body. In one form of motor-car lamp, the aperture in the lamp body for the reception of the ring E engages a flange or band B<3> on the reflector, and the bevelled edge of the front glass D is formed with an inwardly directed flange or lip A<3> stiffened by a flange A<4>. The screw-threaded electric lamp socket C engages a tubular extension B<2> at the rear of the reflector and is provided externally with a nut for securing the reflector to the lamp body. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 174,492.
