Abstract

111,629. Wilkinson. H. T., and Wardle Engineering Co. April 23, 1917. Electric-lamp lanterns.-An electric-lamp lantern has a hemispherical or other dish-shaped body a and a glazed front b provided with a rim c for attachment to a wall, roof, &c. The lamp is inserted through an inclined box-shaped extension d closed by a door f preferably provided with a handle j having projecting ends k, which engage studs m on the exterior and are secured by nuts n, a packing-ring g against which the door bears being inserted in a recess formed in the flanged rim of the extension. The lamp may be secured on a tapering wood or other block p on the door so as to receive the required inclination, or the lamp may be carried by a cross-member within the extension. The inner end of the extension may be closed, when the lamp is in position, by means. of an annular disk r preferably provided with lugs s for engaging the edge of the hole in the body of the lantern.
