Abstract

113,698. Wilkinson, H. T., and Wardle Engineering Co. March 28, 1917. Electric-lamp lanterns.- In a lantern, which is let into or fixed upon a wall, bulkhead, ceiling, &c., the electric lamps or holders are clamped to a support removably mounted in grooves in the lantern casing. In one form, one or more lampholders are secured by means of nuts k, or nuts and fixed shoulders within holes or slots in the supports e, which is detachably fitted in internal grooves h in an extension d of the lantern casing, or in a recess formed in the body of the casing. Two or more sets of grooves h may be provided for enabling lamps of different sizes to be employed, and the holes or slots in the support may be arranged so that two lamps may be replaced by a single lamp. The glazed cover b is secured by nuts c<1> and studs c engaging a lower slotted lug and two upper slotted lugs on the cover. The Provisional Specification also states that the support may be integral with the lantern, and that the lamp-holders may be secured to the support by a clamping-piece and screws.
