Abstract

Pendants.-In a pendant electric lamp fitting the flexible conducting cable is relieved of the weight of the lamp, holder, and shade by chains, cords, or rods attached to a clamp or yoke secured to the ceiling rose. The clamp or yoke e, which is in two parts hinged together and tightened by a screw e<1>, has internal lugs or an internal flange which fits under the base of the ceiling rose. A stirrup g<1> is attached to the yoke to carry a single chain f, which carries a second stirrup g<2> having a plate h secured to the lampholder d, the whole being of such a length as to allow the flexible cable to hang slack. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the lamp-holder may be supported by three chains f<1>, f<2>, f<3> attached to pins in the yoke and to a large shadecarrier k, which may be inverted if not required for carrying a shade.
