Abstract

199,080. Beard, R. M. March 9, 1922. Ceiling and like overhead lamps.- An electric lighting fixture comprises an annular ceiling reflector 1 of plaster composition, such as plaster of paris, provided with a reinforcing metallic lining 3 by which the reflector is connected to a supporting-member detachably secured to a fixed ceiling fitting, said lining having means, such as set-screws 6, for supporting a globe or shade 7. The upper curved edge 4 of the metallic lining 3 is preferably embedded in the boss portion of the reflector in casting it. The globe 7 has preferably an opening 8, in its lower portion, and has its lower surface 9 translucent and its upper portion 11 transparent. The metallic lining 3 is supported by screws 22<1>, from the lower ring of a metal spider 17 which is supported, by a nut 25, from a post 24 so that it can be adjusted to hold the reflector 1 tightly against the ceiling 28. The post 24 is secured to a ceiling outlet box 27. The lamp-bulb socket 13, provided with terminals 14, Fig. 2, for the wires 29, 30, is attached by screws passing through holes 15 to a disc 16 which is supported by threaded bolts 22 from the spider 17, which bolts may be adjusted to vary the height of the lamp-bulb 12.
